18 Mar Seamless transactions with LEO Services for Festivals and Events
Introduction
Large-scale festivals and live events transform open spaces into vibrant hubs of music, culture, and shared experiences. These gatherings bring together thousands of attendees for hours of entertainment, creating an atmosphere driven by energy, connection, and seamless interaction between performers, vendors, and guests. From major outdoor festivals and sporting events to corporate activations and markets – all create a unique environment where people come together to celebrate, engage, and participate. Beyond the performances and activities, events often act as prime opportunities for networking and fostering new business connections.
The Challenge
Large outdoor events often place significant strain on local cellular networks as thousands of people connect in the same area at once. This can lead to network congestion, disrupting banking apps and card payments, and making it difficult for vendors to process food and beverage purchases—resulting in delays, frustrated guests, and lost revenue. Reliable connectivity is therefore essential to keep transactions, communications, and event operations running smoothly while ensuring a seamless attendee experience and protecting event revenue.
The Solution
Huge Connect, in collaboration with Q-KON, implemented the portable Twoobii-OneWeb LEO solution at a recent music festival to ensure speed point transactions operated flawlessly. Connecting approximately 60 speed points at any given time, the system delivered uninterrupted service. Its reliability was so evident that other vendors sought to connect through the same solution, highlighting the critical role of dedicated LEO connectivity in maintaining seamless transactions, enhancing guest satisfaction, and supporting high-demand areas without compromise.
“I am pleased to say that from a connectivity and stability standpoint I am very happy to recommend this to future clients”
— Huge Connect Solutions Architect, Nico van der Westhuizen.
