29 Jul High-Speed, Low Latency for Sky and Stone Tented Camps
Introduction
Nestled among the striking granite landscapes of Damaraland in Namibia’s Erongo Mountains, Sky and Stone Tented Camps offer an unforgettable blend of luxury, tranquillity, and adventure. Surrounded by breathtaking desert scenery and abundant wildlife, the camp provides guests with an authentic African wilderness experience without compromising on comfort. Whether exploring the dramatic landscapes, enjoying spectacular sunsets, or relaxing beneath the star-filled Namibian sky, Sky and Stone Tented Camps is the perfect destination for travellers seeking an exclusive escape in one of Africa’s most remarkable settings. With personalised hospitality and thoughtfully designed tented accommodation, every stay promises comfort, privacy, and a genuine connection to nature.
The Challenge
Sky and Stone Tented Camps is located in a remote area with little to no cellular coverage and no reliable communication infrastructure. This makes reservations, office communications, supplier coordination, and the day-to-day operation of the camp challenging.
The need for reliable internet connectivity is also essential for guests. Today’s travellers expect to stay connected, whether it’s keeping in touch with family and friends, sharing their experiences on social media, accessing online services, or responding to important work emails when needed. Reliable connectivity has become an integral part of the guest experience, even in the most remote destinations.
The Solution
Echo Namibia implemented the Twoobii-OneWeb LEO solution, powered by Eutelsat OneWeb, to meet Sky and Stone Tented Camp’s primary requirement for high-speed, low-latency connectivity. The Camp now has a connection that is fast, stable, and reliable. The Team can now manage reservations, communicate with guests and suppliers, and carry out daily business operations without interruption. Most importantly, their guests can enjoy dependable internet access while experiencing one of Namibia’s most remote and spectacular destinations.
“We are extremely satisfied with the service provided by Echo Namibia and would confidently recommend their LEO Satellite solution to any tourism or hospitality establishment operating in remote areas where reliable connectivity is essential.”
